Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will build and optimize automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, and other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments, including creating/managing ETL foundations for internal analytic dashboards and leading data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMRs across platforms via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and other methods.
- Work in an agile environment to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across varied EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet use for business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting/programming skills.
- Experience deploying ETL solutions (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
