Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses or other customer systems to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. Will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Will lead data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data for business users.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with non-technical and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcomes datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements with users in an agile fashion to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as needed; accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience designing ETL strategies across multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Working knowledge of relational DBs including Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general Internet use for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IT technologies, security architecture, and system life-cycle phases.
- 3+ years ETL in an analytic/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript programming/scripting.
- Experience deploying ETL with Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or other tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement skills.
