Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses or other applicable customer systems to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data in a timely manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technology.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements; build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data (agile).
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving software problems.
- ETL strategies across multiple data sources, especially EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security architecture and system lifecycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
