Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data delivery for business users.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technology stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMRs using direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work with users in an agile fashion to build dashboard outputs based on ETL data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with other related duties and special projects as required.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience defining external access and ETL strategies across multiple data sources (incl. EMRs).
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general Internet use for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript programming/scripting.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
