Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technology.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access across platforms via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
- Adhere to departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience creating ETL strategies across varied EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Working knowledge of SQL (e.g., Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet for business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system lifecycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting.
- Experience deploying ETL (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
