Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access across platforms using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving ability.
- ETL strategy experience with multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform deep analysis.
- Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security architecture and system lifecycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- Experience deploying ETL using Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or similar tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service.
