Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, and other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Lead data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture/design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMRs using direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in an agile manner to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Independent problem-solving ability.
- Experience designing ETL strategies across multiple EMR/data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform deep analysis.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting/programming skills.
- ETL tool deployment experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
