Position Summary
- The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards and lead data discovery/validation projects.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate technical processes for non-technical leaders and vice versa.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records using direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs using ETL-sourced data (agile).
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently and solve application software problems.
- Experience defining external access and ETL strategies for varied EMR sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform deep analysis.
- Relational DB experience including Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years ETL in an analytics/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript programming/scripting.
- ETL deployment experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or other).
