Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs and supports automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate technical processes for business leaders and business needs for technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcomes datasets for ingestion.
- Design and develop clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Enable access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in an agile way to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with other related duties/special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application/software problems.
- Experience defining external access and ETL strategies across multiple data sources, especially EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet use for business.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environment (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL deployment tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or others.
- Leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
