Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation for timely, accurate delivery to business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between business and technology.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Design/develop clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Build dashboard outputs by sourcing/building ETL with agile user collaboration.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture/system lifecycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL for analytic/dashboard building (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Leadership, teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
