Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other applicable customer systems to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data to business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between non-technical business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access across platforms via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and other standard/non-standard methods.
- Work in an agile manner with users to build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience defining external access and ETL strategies for multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare data).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or others.
