Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate technical processes to business leaders and business requirements to technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcomes datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- In an agile fashion, gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience designing ETL strategies across varied EMR sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL deployment tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement focus.
