Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with non-technical and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large datasets of clinical outcomes for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and other methods.
- Work in an agile manner with users to build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with ETL strategies across multiple data sources, especially EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IT technologies, security architecture, and system life-cycle phases.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting/programming skills.
- ETL deployment experience with Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or other ETL tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement mindset.
