Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL for internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering; establish integration approaches; translate between business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture/design for clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Independent problem-solving; external access + ETL strategy across multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet use.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting; Mirth Connect and/or CloverETL experience.
- Leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service/continuous improvement mindset.
