Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments, create/manage/optimize ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure accurate delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements in an agile manner and build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with related duties and special projects as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years working with relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data; perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience (e.g., Microsoft SQL, MySQL).
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting skills.
- Experience deploying ETL solutions (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
