Position Summary
Data Integration Engineer: Build automated backend data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (EMRs, billing, data warehouses, etc.) into Caris environments. Create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards. Lead data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with business and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Design/develop clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Enable EMR access using database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs from ETL.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving; experience with external access and ETL across multiple EMR/data sources.
- Ability to query/analyze complex database data.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Internet for business use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture and system lifecycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript; Mirth Connect/CloverETL (or similar) experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, continuous improvement.
