Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated backend data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (from electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, and other systems) into Caris environments. They create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. They lead data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data on time for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and establish integration approaches; translate between business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture/design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMR data via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work in an agile fashion with users to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with ETL strategies across multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data; perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security/system lifecycle background.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
