Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install and maintain back-end, automated data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (EMRs, billing, data warehouses, etc.) into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation for timely, accurate delivery to business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcomes datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture/design of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Enable EMR access across platforms via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in an agile process to build dashboard outputs from ETL.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving.
- ETL strategies across multiple data sources (EMR systems).
- Ability to query/analyze complex database data.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and basic business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture knowledge and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript; experience with Mirth Connect/CloverETL or similar tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
