Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create/manage/optimize ETL for internal analytic dashboards and lead data discovery/validation to ensure timely, accurate data delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between non-technical and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture/design of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business needs.
- Establish EMR access across platforms using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in agile fashion to build dashboard outputs from ETL.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties/projects.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Independent problem-solving.
- Experience designing ETL strategies across multiple EMR/data sources.
- Ability to query/analyze complex data.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and general internet skills.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tools familiarity (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer-service focus.
