Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs and maintains automated back-end data integrations that ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. They also create, manage, and optimize ETL pipelines from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure timely, accurate data delivery.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering; define integration approaches and communicate between business and technical teams.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMR data via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and/or other methods.
- Work in an agile environment to build dashboard outputs using ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience defining ETL strategies for varied data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DB experience (e.g., Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general internet use.

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare data).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL deployment tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or others.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
