Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between non-technical business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Design/develop clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Enable access to electronic medical records using direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs using ETL-sourced data (agile).
- Adhere to departmental/corporate standards; assist with other related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving; experience with external access + ETL strategies across varied EMR sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data; perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture knowledge; ETL in dashboard/analytic environment (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, continuous improvement, teamwork.
