Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs and maintains automated backend data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., EMRs, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. They create/manage/optimize ETL pipelines from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between business and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in agile fashion to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Independent problem-solving.
- ETL strategy experience across multiple EMR/data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data; strong analysis.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and general business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- ETL/dashboard experience (3+ years), preferably healthcare.
- JavaScript; familiarity with Mirth Connect, CloverETL or other ETL tools.
