Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end automated data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure timely, accurate delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between non-technical business and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture/design of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish EMR access across platforms using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Use agile collaboration to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience designing ETL strategies across multiple data sources, especially EMRs.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Working experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard building (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript skills.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
