Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. They create, manage, and optimize ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technical teams.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture/design for clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMRs across platforms using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work in an agile process with users to build dashboard outputs based on ETL.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform deep analysis.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet for business.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security/systems lifecycle background.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tools: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or others.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, teamwork, continuous improvement.
