Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data timely.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and establish integration approaches; translate between non-technical business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish EMR access via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Work with users in an agile fashion to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Assist with other duties/special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- ETL strategy experience across multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and analyze results.
- Relational DB experience (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare data).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tools experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
