Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end automated data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments and creates/manages/optimizes ETL for internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data to business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering; define integration approaches and communicate between business and technology.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design and development of clinical informatics/BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to electronic medical records via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements with users in an agile manner to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently; establish external access and ETL strategies across EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform deep analysis.
- Relational DB experience (e.g., Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) and general business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture and system lifecycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytic/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript skills.
- ETL deployment tools (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
