Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will install back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other applicable customer systems to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. They will create, manage, and optimize ETL from multiple internal data systems to support internal analytic dashboards. They will lead data discovery and validation projects to ensure accurate, timely data delivery for business users.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate with non-technical business leaders.
- Assemble large datasets of clinical outcomes for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture design and development of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Enable access to EMRs across platforms using direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data in an agile environment.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Support related duties and special projects as required; accept other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently on application software problems.
- Experience designing external access + ETL strategies across multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet use for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare data).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
