Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end, automated data integrations to customer electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses, or other customer systems to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely data delivery.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between business and technical teams.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Contribute to architecture for clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Establish EMR access across platforms using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements in agile teams; build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards.
- Support related duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet for business.

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT/security architecture knowledge; system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting/programming.
- ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement skills.
