Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs and maintains automated back-end data integrations that ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture, design, and development of clinical informatics and business intelligence infrastructure.
- Enable access to electronic medical records via direct database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements in an agile manner and build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to documented departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties and special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational database experience.
- Experience with HL7.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently; establish external access and ETL strategies across multiple EMR sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Working experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet for business use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced IT technologies, security architecture, and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting; experience with Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or other ETL tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
