Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will build automated back-end data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., EMRs, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments, create/manage/optimize ETL for internal analytic dashboards, and lead data discovery/validation to ensure accurate, timely data delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble and organize large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Design and develop clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Enable EMR access across platforms via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements with users in an agile process; build dashboard outputs from ETL data.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree (related field).
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience; Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Experience creating ETL strategies across varied EMR sources; ability to assemble/query complex data.
- Relational DBs: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business Internet use.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- IT/security architecture and system life-cycle knowledge.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environment (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript; ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service, and continuous improvement.
