Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end automated data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data (e.g., EMRs, billing, data warehouses) into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL for internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to deliver accurate data on time.
Job Responsibilities
- Gather technical requirements and define integration approaches; translate between business and technology teams.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Design and develop clinical informatics/BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Enable EMR access across platforms via database access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other standards/non-standards methods.
- Work agile with users to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards; support special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Ability to work independently solving application software problems.
- Experience designing ETL with multiple EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- Relational databases: Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- IT/security architecture knowledge and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting; familiarity with Mirth Connect, CloverETL, or similar.
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, and customer service focus.
