Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer installs automated back-end data integrations to customer systems (e.g., electronic medical records, billing, data warehouses) to ingest healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between non-technical business leaders and technical owners.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architectural design for clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish access to EMRs using direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, and/or other methods.
- Work in an agile manner with users to build dashboard outputs from ETL-sourced data.
- Adhere to departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties/special projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming; 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving.
- ETL strategy experience with multiple data sources/EMR systems.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis.
- SQL (Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL).
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and business Internet use.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in IT/security architecture and system life-cycle phases.
- 3+ years ETL for analytics/dashboarding (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript skills; ETL tool experience (e.g., Mirth Connect, CloverETL).
- Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, customer service focus.
