Position Summary:
The Data Integration Engineer installs back-end automated data integrations to ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments. Creates, manages, and optimizes ETL from internal systems to support internal analytic dashboards. Leads data discovery and validation to ensure accurate, timely delivery for business users.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assemble large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion into Caris systems.
- Contribute to architecture/design of clinical informatics and BI infrastructure.
- Establish EMR access across platforms via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather business requirements and build dashboard outputs based on ETL-sourced data (agile).
- Follow documented departmental and corporate standards; assist with related duties/projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational database experience.
- HL7 experience.
- Certified in Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges.
- Independent problem-solving ability.
- Experience with external access and ETL strategies across EMR data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex database data and analyze results.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL.
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic Internet use for business.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong IT/security architecture knowledge; familiarity with system life-cycle phases.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (preferably healthcare).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL deployments using Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or other tools.
- Leadership, communication, customer service, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
