Position Summary
The Data Integration Engineer will build and optimize automated back-end data integrations that ingest customer healthcare data into Caris environments, including ETL development from internal systems to support analytic dashboards, and data discovery/validation to ensure timely, accurate delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead technical requirements gathering and define integration approaches; communicate between business and technical stakeholders.
- Assemble and prepare large clinical outcome datasets for ingestion.
- Design and develop clinical informatics and BI infrastructure based on business requirements.
- Enable EMR access across platforms via direct DB access, FHIR, HL7, APIs, or other methods.
- Gather requirements with users in agile fashion to build dashboard outputs from ETL data.
- Follow documented departmental/corporate standards; assist with related duties/projects as needed.
Required Qualifications / Skills
- Bachelorβs degree in related field.
- 3+ years ETL programming.
- 3+ years relational databases.
- HL7 experience.
- Epic Beaker and/or Epic Bridges certification.
- Independent problem-solving for application software.
- ETL strategy experience across multiple EMR/data sources.
- Ability to assemble/query complex data and perform in-depth analysis (e.g., SQL/MySQL).
- Proficient Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic business internet use.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Advanced IT/security architecture and system life-cycle experience.
- 3+ years ETL in analytics/dashboard environments (healthcare preferred).
- JavaScript scripting.
- ETL tooling: Mirth Connect, CloverETL, and/or others.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
