Position Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, deployment, and operation of production-grade Nextflow pipelines on cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable and reproducible execution.
- Support pipeline lifecycle management (upgrades, troubleshooting, performance tuning, reliability improvements).
- Learn and apply DevOps best practices for pipelines and platform services (CI/CD, automation, engineering tooling).
- Translate data analysis requirements into robust, production-ready pipeline and platform solutions with wet-lab and research scientists.
- Develop and evolve an omics data platform to process and deliver *omics datasets as reliable data products.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to strengthen pipeline quality, sustainability, and best practices.
- Support the user community by answering questions, documenting workflows, and sharing best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MS in Computational Biology, Biology, Physics, Statistics, or related technical discipline OR BS with 2+ yearsβ relevant research experience developing data products and data integration solutions.
- Single-cell/NGS, functional genomics, genetics, or proteomics data analysis experience.
- Hands-on Nextflow experience (or strong interest in developing it).
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with software development practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and learn new analytical approaches.
- Excellent communication/collaboration skills; experience working in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background/interest in life sciences, pharmaceutical research, drug discovery, or bioinformatics.
- Exposure to software engineering best practices (Python package development, cloud, CI/CD, engineering tooling).
- Experience handling large heterogeneous datasets in a drug discovery environment.
- Interest in AI-assisted coding tools.
Work Location & Compensation/Benefits:
- Hybrid; live within commuting distance; work on-site an average of 2.5 days/week or more as needed.
- Base salary: $82,700.00β$137,900.00; bonus target 10.0%.
