Position Summary
- Supports development, optimization, and maintenance of data queries and analytics pipelines powering the Predictive Dairy Solutions platform.
- Works with cross-functional teams to translate commercial and scientific objectives into efficient, performant data solutions.
- Writes, tunes, and manages SQL queries and data transformations for dairy predictive algorithms and customer-facing analytics.
- Works with business stakeholders to review and refine data requirements, validate outputs, and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Ensures data quality and compliance with product implementation protocols; identifies and resolves data integrity issues.
- Manages multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Design, write, and optimize SQL queries.
- Support deployment and lifecycle management via preparing, validating, and transforming input data and reviewing algorithm outputs.
- Perform data mapping and modeling to translate requirements into specifications.
- Conduct quality checks for completeness, internal consistency, and production suitability.
- Prepare documentation and technical specifications (data structures, query logic, data flows).
- Maintain project logs and help reprioritize requests with leadership.
- Collaborate with R&D and data science to enable rapid dairy algorithm/model iteration.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Animal Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years relational SQL experience (writing, optimization, performance tuning) (required).
- 2+ years animal agriculture/dairy experience or familiarity with relevant data ecosystems.
- Business/data analyst experience from requirements gathering through delivery (preferred).
- Ability to analyze multiple projects concurrently; strong data organization.
- Strong communication skills; ability to work across time zones.
Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL with optimization/performance tuning.
- Microsoft Excel (required).
- Dairy platforms (DC305, Bovisync, PCDart, DHIPlus) (preferred).
- Databricks/data lakes/data warehouses (preferred).
- Python or other scripting (preferred). Data visualization tools (plus). AI-supported implementation (preferred).
