Cyber Defense Platforms Staff Engineer

Role: Associate Director (Staff Engineer) for Cyber Defense Platforms, responsible for end-to-end ownership of security defense technology stack including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, DLP, email security, and anti-phishing systems. Objectives: improve detection, automation, and operational efficiency, and lead technical initiatives across enterprise security operations. Responsibilities: deploy, configure, and manage security platforms; develop detection content aligned with MITRE ATT&CK; establish detection-as-code practices; design SOAR playbooks and automation workflows; build integrations and APIs; define standards and serve as technical authority; mentor team members. Qualifications: 8+ years in security engineering or operations with hands-on experience in security platforms; expertise in security automation scripting (Python, Go, PowerShell); proven ability to develop detection content at scale; experience with cloud security (AWS); familiarity with regulated industries such as biotech or pharma; relevant certifications (e.g., GIAC, CISSP).
