Customer Team Leader (CTL) β San Diego district (San Diego, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Chula Vista)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Customer Representatives to deliver strong sales performance by identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Coach and guide Customer Representatives to improve skills and effectiveness.
- Oversee training and manage people-related processes to support continuous development and optimal resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain a high-performing customer team aligned to organizational goals and customer expectations.
- Travel at least 15% of the time to support team and customer engagement (may include occasional overnight stays).
Qualifications and Attributes
- Build a high-performing, motivated sales team culture (preferably Cardiovascular therapeutic area).
- Demonstrate leadership through change and challenges using situational coaching and emotional intelligence; growth mindset and agility.
- Navigate ambiguity; communicate clearly to adapt customer engagement models.
- Maintain customer-focused mindset; actively listen and build relationships.
- Strong account planning/management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience building relationships with key accounts/customers in the Cardiovascular sector.
- Solid understanding of Rx Pathways (prescription processes, EHR, pharmacies, benefit design, prior authorization).
- Coach sales professionals in Managed Care; partner with IDNs and Account Management teams.
- Track record leading successful product launch teams in competitive markets.
- Use business analytics/technology to generate insights and execute plans.
Required Skills/Experience
- BA/BS and at least 5 yearsβ experience in Sales, Marketing, or Managed Care within the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Valid driverβs license.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- MBA or MS; 3+ years working with thought leaders/influential customers in practices, hospitals, or managed care.
- Field Sales Management experience; Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Medical Device sales leadership.
- Strong analytics and relationship-building within customer organizations.
