Purpose
The Customer Engagement Specialist (CES) reports to the Director, Customer Engagement, OTTAVA. Accountable for flawless development and delivery of educational content throughout the customer journey across key areas of Robotics and Digital Solutions. Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, R&D, and other cross-functional partners to deliver key messaging and product education for ETHICONβs multi-quadrant surgical robotics system in support of the OTTAVA System global launch. Responsible for content delivery, customer management (internal/external), adherence to functional processes, applicable legal/regulatory requirements, and Company Health Care Compliance policies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Professional Education, R&D, and external partners to educate internal and external customers on safe and efficacious use of J&Jβs surgical robotic systems.
- Deliver technical hands-on education to surgical teams (setup, use, tear-down) of the OTTAVA Surgical System.
- Use customer insights and Voice of Customer (VoC) to refine content effectiveness via continuous improvement with cross-functional partners.
- Maximize integration with strategic and commercial objectives.
- Support execution of marketing and commercial launch activities for the OTTAVA System as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required.
- Minimum 4 years in progressive Healthcare Commercial roles (e.g., Sales, Sales Training, Prof Ed, Marketing, and/or Sales Management) or other applicable experience.
- Medical device education experience (external or internal stakeholder training) required.
- High technological and business aptitude; ability to understand and translate technically complex concepts.
- Strong influence, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to develop/manage internal and external customer relationships.
- Ability to work with cross-functional partners across global markets.
- Excellent communication, analytical, conflict management, and customer engagement skills.
- Preferred: Robotic and/or large capital commercial/customer experience.
- Intellectual curiosity and learning agility.
- Up to 40% domestic/international travel.
