Custodian

Role: Facilities and custodial technician responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and minor repairs in a collection center. Objectives include ensuring a sanitary, organized environment that supports daily operations. Responsibilities encompass cleaning surfaces, floors, windows, and restrooms; performing minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, and basic plumbing/carpentry; monitoring grounds and parking lots; assisting with shipping material handling; and ensuring supplies are stocked. Additional duties include following safety protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting operational needs; cross-training and bilingual skills may be required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; at least 3 months custodial or related experience preferred; ability to follow instructions; manual dexterity; physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds; and capability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes hazardous environment with PPE use. Experience in healthcare or blood collection settings is advantageous. Work setup: primarily on-site with overtime and extended hours as needed, exposure to chemicals and blood-borne pathogens.
