Role Summary
Corporate Counsel, Specialty Care based in Cambridge, MA or Morristown, NJ. Provide legal advice and counsel to internal clients primarily within the Immunology franchise for Sanofi products (investigational and marketed) managed by the US and Global Specialty Care units. Conduct strategic and transactional counseling, collaborating with senior decision makers and cross-functional teams to advance the companyβs strategy while addressing legal and regulatory risks.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary legal contact for assigned assets and/or business units, reviewing advertising/promotional and scientific exchange materials and collaborating with other practice areas.
- Partner with the business to consider, develop and execute initiatives related to assigned assets or units.
- Manage review and negotiation of contracts and amendments related to the relevant asset or unit, coordinating subject matter experts as needed.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure adherence to policies, understand legislative developments impacting the business, and manage internal and external resources.
- Operate with limited supervision, using balanced judgment to establish priorities; identify legal issues (promotion, regulatory, fraud and abuse) and propose risk-mitigating solutions.
- Demonstrate behaviors in partnering with stakeholders: strategic ownership, external awareness, impact-based counseling, proactivity, innovation, and value creation; escalate issues when appropriate.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS, Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law (Massachusetts or New Jersey preferred); minimum 5 years of legal experience; proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and other corporate software.
- Preferred: Experience counseling pharma/biotech on FDA or other healthcare matters.
