Corporate Accounting Advisor

Role Summary

Advisor – Corporate Accounting. The role contributes to the Elanco Corporate Accounting and Reporting (ECAR) team by applying technical accounting research and executing month-end close for corporate accounting processes. It acts as a key business partner to functions outside ECAR, providing consultative support on strategic initiatives and assisting with external reporting preparation and review. The position leads or supports complex special projects and drives process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review key month-end close accounting entries and processes, reporting and SOX deliverables
• Own or assist with complex special projects and process improvement and automation initiatives
• Perform analytical review of monthly results to ensure an accurate close and to provide meaningful business partnering
• Provide corporate leadership and oversight to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and Elanco Global Accounting Policies and Practices
• Assist global affiliates and other business partners with resolution of accounting inquiries and issues

Qualifications

• Required: Experience — A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience
• Required: Certifications — CPA or Chartered Accountant required
• Required: Key Skills for Success — Ability to handle ambiguity; Self-starter
• Preferred: Public accounting experience
• Preferred: Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Preferred: Strong leadership and teaming
• Preferred: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Preferred: Extensive knowledge of Excel and working knowledge of SAP S4 HANA ERP and/or OneStream solutions

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
