Role Summary

Cook for corporate catering with a Monday–Friday schedule from 5:30am to 2:00pm CST and occasional weekend shifts. Responsible for preparing and coordinating menu items, maintaining food quality, and ensuring timely service for guest meals in a high-volume setting. Collaborates with catering and kitchen staff to deliver excellent guest service and efficient line setup.

Responsibilities

  • Be a proactive team member, taking initiative to assist others to ensure excellent guest service.
  • Set up sanitizing and cleaning stations, wipe down workspace, prepare steam table diagram, and manage leftovers.
  • Prepare items in order of cooking time, store in cooler, and monitor food as it cooks; coordinate with catering, breakfast cook, grill cook for daily specials.
  • Set up steam table for lunch and display areas; ensure the line is ready and all components are available for service.
  • Communicate portion sizes and preparation details pre-service; assist with serving and answer guest questions.
  • Prepare for next day by placing GFS order.
  • Other duties as assigned within the role’s scope.

Qualifications

  • Required: HS Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Four years of cooking experience with knowledge of menu development.
  • Preferred: Culinary certification; Sanitation certificate.
  • Required: Knowledge of volume production and batch cooking; experience preparing eggs, sauces, casseroles, and sandwiches.
  • Required: Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and proven guest-service track record.
  • Required: Ability to follow verbal instructions and written recipes; knowledge of the Foodservice menu system and GFS ordering system.
  • Preferred: Proactive team player with strong organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change; overtime willingness; flexibility with additional duties as assigned.
