Role: Computational Biologist specializing in cellularization within regenerative medicine for in silico lung modeling. Objectives include developing mechanistic models of cellular processes in lung tissues, simulating cell behaviors such as division, migration, and adhesion under mechanical and chemical influences, to inform organ engineering and therapy development. Responsibilities encompass creating and qualifying mathematical models, integrating multi-scale biological processes, partnering with experimental labs for data generation and validation, and communicating insights through visualizations and publications. Requirements: Masterβs in biomedical engineering, computational biology, or related field with 6+ years of industry experience (or PhD with 2+ years), expertise in cell-level modeling frameworks (agent-based, cellular Potts), numerical methods (ODEs, PDEs, Monte Carlo), proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, Julia), and experience with cell simulation software (Morpheus, CompuCell3D). Knowledge of molecular/cellular biology and drug development is essential. Preferred: PhD, familiarity with systems pharmacology, machine learning, and pulmonary physiology. The role is based at the Silver Spring campus, requiring at least 4 days onsite. Salary range: $127,500β$150,000.
