Role Summary

Compensation Consultant is part of the Broad-Based Compensation team with responsibility for execution and administration of the Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) compensation programs, including base pay, long and short-term incentives, job evaluations and pricing, allowances, and one-time payments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform job evaluations and market pricing in alignment with global principles and processes.
  • Review and analyze market data, market trends, and internal equity; ensure competitive positioning within the market and apply knowledge of business and industry best practice.
  • Perform testing activities for annual compensation planning, system implementations, changes and ongoing enhancements.
  • Conduct and participate in Annual Salary Surveys (Compensation Surveys - local & regional).
  • Support the execution and delivery of Global and Regional compensation projects and programs, influencing, educating and collaborating with stakeholders for optimum execution.
  • Leverage expertise in proactively understanding changes in legislation, practices and trends for our industry and markets; propose solutions/recommendations to stakeholders to drive the company's strategy.
  • Own local market expertise and knowledge on how collective agreements apply to specific country locations, understand local grading structures according to the respective collective agreement; identify and implement improvements to training materials; liaise with payroll teams to ensure accurate local grading and readiness for annual mandatory increases.
  • Maintain detailed process documentation for allowance plans and market-specific compensation programs and share knowledge within the team to enable accurate understanding and application of the rules, ensuring compliance with local market policies.
  • Act as the local market expert for assigned EMEA markets, advising global teams on local market requirements and proactively identifying risks and formulating solutions to mitigate them through to completion.
  • Escalate and research Total Rewards inquiries requiring specialized rewards knowledge or access to specific systems.
  • Assist with compliance and governance of compensation plans and programs, including identifying risks, participating in audits and implementing corrective or preventive actions.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to existing systems and processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent required
  • Proven experience and expertise in Compensation
  • General knowledge and understanding of HR policies, processes, employment laws and total rewards legislative requirements for the relevant region
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple competing tasks and priorities
  • Ability to network across a global organization to align with objectives and strategy to deliver enterprise-wide solutions

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college or equivalent
