General Summary:
- The Comparative Medicine team seeks an energetic, compassionate, results-oriented individual to perform in vivo studies and monitor the health and wellbeing of laboratory rodents in a 27,000 sq. ft. AAALAC-accredited vivarium.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently perform dosing (IV, IP, PO, SC, IM), blood sampling, anesthesia, euthanasia, tissue harvest, and data recording; collect/process other samples under direction of a veterinarian or senior research associate.
- Under minimal direction, perform surgical preparation and provide post-operative care and monitoring.
- Collaborate with research scientists; remain flexible to study timelines and circumstances.
- Independently perform data acquisition and entry; document protocol deviations; execute studies with good documentation practices and adherence to facility guidelines, policies, and SOPs.
- Monitor health and behavior; assist with administration of veterinary treatments.
- Assist with oversight of vivarium procedure rooms (inspection readiness, stocking supplies, preparation for studies).
- Support rotating weekend/holiday/overtime coverage; may require flexible shifts.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in a biological science.
- 1–4 years lab animal research experience; proficiency with basic rodent techniques, anatomy, and behavior.
- AALAS technical certification (ALAT, LAT, LATG) preferred.

Skills/Other:
- Strong oral and written communication and collaborative work practices.
- Familiarity with data acquisition and protocol management software; Microsoft Office.

Pay Range:
- $30–$45
