Co-op position in the Screening & On-target NGS team supporting Prime Editing programs. The role contributes to high-throughput genome editing experiments in mammalian systems and sequencing-based evaluation of editing outcomes. It operates at the interface of cell biology, genome editing, next-generation sequencing, and lab automation, and will lead a defined project to optimize and automate components of the screening workflow to improve throughput, reproducibility, and data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manipulate mammalian cell cultures using aseptic technique
  • Perform cell transfections and execute gene editing experiments
  • Isolate genomic DNA, prepare NGS libraries, and operate Illumina sequencing platforms
  • Support development of automated liquid handling workflows
  • Analyze and interpret sequencing data to assess editing efficiency and screening performance
  • Maintain accurate experimental documentation using an electronic lab notebook system

Qualifications

  • Required: Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, including PCR and DNA extraction
  • Required: Experience with aseptic technique
  • Required: Familiarity with genome editing concepts
  • Required: Exposure to NGS workflows or sequencing-based assays
  • Required: Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and collaborative mindset
  • Preferred: Prior mammalian cell culture experience strongly preferred
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with gene editing and/or NGS techniques
  • Preferred: Experience with laboratory automation and/or data analysis

Education

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, or related field
