Role: 6-month student co-op within Biogen's Neurology Research Unit focusing on Alzheimer's disease, specifically β-amyloid targeting. Objectives: Support ongoing neurodegenerative program by performing histological, biochemical, and imaging experiments independently, compiling data, and presenting findings. Responsibilities: conduct brain tissue sectioning, immunohistology, microscopy, tissue homogenization, ELISA; document protocols and experiments; review relevant literature; prepare data presentations. Requirements: pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s in biology or related field; laboratory experience with mouse brain tissue handling, microscopy, image analysis; familiarity with pipetting and experimental protocols; legal work authorization in the U.S.; minimum age of 18. Preferred: coursework in biochemistry and cell biology. High-Value: neurodegeneration, Alzheimer’s, β-amyloid, histology, biochemistry, microscopy, in vivo mouse tissue handling, basic image analysis; internship at a biotech company focused on neurodegenerative research. Work Setup: internship, hybrid or onsite based in the U.S., with no travel specified.
