Role: Co-op student supporting early-stage neurodevelopmental research focused on therapeutic strategies to modulate disease-relevant RNA transcripts within Biogen's Neurodevelopmental Biology Research Group. Responsibilities: perform molecular assays (qPCR, ddPCR, western blot), cell culture, transfection/transduction of human iPSC-derived neurons and cell lines, immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, and quantitative image analysis to aid target identification and validation. Responsibilities also include experimental planning, troubleshooting, and data documentation. Requirements: currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program, pursuing degrees in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology/Biochemistry, or Neuroscience; strong cell biology, genomics, and proteomics foundation; technical wet lab experience; legal authorization to work in the U.S.; must be at least 18 years old. Preferred qualifications: familiarity with functional cellular assays such as multi-electrode array recording, data analysis tools like GraphPad Prism. High-Value: neurodevelopmental disorders, RNA transcript modulation, molecular and cell biology techniques, early-stage target validation research, working with human iPSC-derived neurons. Work setup: internship role, JanuaryβJune 2027, with a base pay of $23-$29/hour, supporting remote or hybrid work, with eligibility criteria for educational institutions.
