Role Summary
The Immunology Research Unit develops therapies for autoimmune diseases. This 6-month co-op provides the opportunity to work with experienced drug discovery scientists as part of a cross-functional team. You will gain hands-on experience designing and executing experiments to answer key scientific questions and advance the research program.
Responsibilities
- Assist with design and execution of in vitro immunological assays (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting)
- Isolate human peripheral mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and enrich for desired cell types
- Analyze experimental results and present findings at lab meetings
- Maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks
- Follow all safety and compliance procedures
Qualifications
- Required: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Required: At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
- Required: Currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college, university or skills program/apprenticeship.
- Preferred: Prior laboratory experience (academic or industry).
- Preferred: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Preferred: Excellent communication and collaborative nature.
- Preferred: Strong curiosity for science and eagerness to learn in a hands-on environment.
Education
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelorโs or Masterโs program
- Preferred majors/programs: Biology, Immunology, or Related Field
